Food for Thought Friday: join me for happy hour!

^This is what I look like at happy hour, haha!

Hello and happy Friday,

It's the end of September, I can't believe it! We don't really get fall in San Francisco (a tragedy) but... there was a day this week that kinda felt like it and the crisp air made me so happy. It's also that magical time of year when you get the end-of-summer AND beginning-of-fall produce at the same time! I ate my first apples this week and almost cried for joy, they were so crisp and delicious. I also bought 20lbs of early girl tomatoes, which I will be slow-roasting this weekend as part of my annual tomato-products-stock-up practice. If you want to join me in some slow roasting, recipe/instructions here.

Always, but especially in these times of great unrest and uncertainty, the change of seasons is something to savor. And I think these transitional months bring even more joy when you eat extremely seasonally, as I do. I only eat tomatoes in the summer, and I only eat apples in the fall, which makes them all the more special to me. So I celebrate the coming and going of things in my diet, which I find to be an accurate and a beautiful way to live.

Speaking of comings and goings... as I've mentioned, I'm launching my online cooking course (Intuitive Cooking 101) again on October 14th, so I'm gonna be talking about it nonstop from now until then. Over the past several months I've really honed in on the KEYS to my cooking magic and I'm so excited to dig into them with some of YOU (hopefully!) in this upcoming 5-week, cook-along course (all the details coming soon on that!).

Today's exciting news is that I'm hosting a free, LIVE Happy Hour class, which will be a little preview of what I'll be teaching in the 5-week course. This happy hour is called: the 3 never-before-seen SECRETS to my intuitive cooking lifestyle and you can read more about it and sign up for one of the four different live class times at this link.

At happy hour, you'll learn:
  • the 4 hidden obstacles that make cooking feel like a CHORE and how to overcome them
  • 3 simple lessons that will radically change your cooking for the better (this is how you WHIP IT UP)
  • the 10 meal formulas I use to make 99% of my meals
  • the 2 tricks that add effortless variety to my cooking so I never get bored

I hope you'll join me! Link to sign up here. Happy weekend!

Love,
Jess

PS. If you haven't, I highly recommend listening to the two in-depth Daily podcast episodes on the killing of Breonna Taylor. Part 1 and Part 2 are both incredible reporting on what really happened that night, and listening  is, perhaps, a small way to honor her memory. The storytelling of it helped me to more deeply witness the tragedy of her death.

PPS. I just updated my privacy policy and terms of use. Super boring but necessary to let you know!

Hi, I'm Jess! I help health-conscious, busy people transform their cooking from "chore" to "whippin it up!" through intuitive cooking, which I teach through online classes, free content, coaching and more. This is my newsletter, Food for Thought Fridays, where I share highly actionable tips and inspiration to help you cook more intuitively (which makes cooking feel easier and SO much more fun!). Once a month, I share a recipe that's really worth making, and I only share those with my email subscribers.
